The attack on the Westgate Mall in Nairobi, Kenya was not a random act of violence.  It was in response to Kenya's willing participation in what is seen as an anti-Islamist "War on Terror" by the United States and its allies.

Political pundits commenting on Zimbabwe's 2013 election seemingly ignore the context in which the voters went to the poll and the shortfalls exhibited by the Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) led by Morgan Tsvangirai, which opposes 89 year old President Robert Mugabeand his ZANU-PF party.






U.S. foreign policy wonks simply pick a side and say "Our guy is good and the other guy is bad;" and don't do any further analysis than that.  This has been the unsuccessful modus operandi of our foreign policy leaders since before the days of the Vietnam war.
